Getting Involved

Why should I volunteer?

  • Parent volunteers offer a huge resource and support base for the school community while showing their kids the importance of participating in the larger community.

  • BECS students and BECS Drama will reap the benefits of your involvement! You will too! You will have so much fun in our theatre environment and you will gain a firsthand experience of drama/theater in a school setting and the positive impact it can have on the youth and our community.

What can I volunteer for?

Bromley Theatre has an abundance of things we can use assistance with.  Here are the biggest things we do throughout the year.

  • The Fall and Spring productions.  These are productions that require a great deal of parent assistance. Volunteering opportunies will include but may not be limited to costuming, set construction, marketing, selling program advertisements, rehearsal assistance, weekend rehearsal assistance, props, lighting, sound, dressing room management, green room management, backstage assistance, set/prop/costume transportation, etc.

**All parents with a student in the show or on tech crew must serve a required amount of volunteer hours for the production.  If your child is in one of these roles the Parent Intro Night will give you more details.

  • Fall and Spring Cast Parties/Awards Ceremony.  These are wonderful ceremonies where we acknowledge all of the students hard work and achievements throughout the shows.  Volunteering will include but may not be limited to food prep/donations, set-up, tear-down, supervision, etc.

  • Dollar Theatre Night.  These are new and exciting events that will happen a few times throughout the year. Junior Thespian Students will prepare a few events these during the school year.  Although these will be student runned, we will need parents to help supervise, sell concessions with students, sell tickets with students, etc.

  • Junior Thespian Induction Ceremony.  This will be taking place on Wednesday, September 9th.  We will need a few volunteers to assist the Junior Thespian Council in food prep, set-up, tear-down, etc.

  • Junior ThesCon.  The Junior Thespians will once again be going to ThesCon this year in Denver on December 3rd.  We will need parent chaperones for this field trip.  More information will be provided during this years Junior Thespian Induction Ceremony on September 9th.

  • Fundraisers!  Throughout the year there will be fundraising events and opportunites to help grow the funds of the Drama Program.

  • MUCH, MUCH MORE!

Even if you haven't been involved in the past, it's never too late to start.
